2006 VW Jetta 2.5

« on: November 09, 2009, 07:29:56 AM »

Three weeks ago I was at a red light in my 1992 1.8L Jetta. A boy and his cute girlfriend pulled next to me in his black 1993-98 2.0L Jetta. I know it was a 2.0L because his wheels had a 4x100 bolt pattern and his engine was clearly not a diesel nor a VR6. He revved... I couldn't believe it, he actually wanted to race my P.O.S. 100hp Jetta!!! I revved a bit to tell him I was up for the challenge. When the light turned green, I made the most perfect start of my live and I won by one car length. At the next red light, he revved again! I guess he didn't get it... Same story here, I made a good start and won by one car length. Technically he was supposed to beat me, but I think he was a lot heavier. He had around 110 lbs of girlfriend, an heavier car overall, and a whole bunch of electrical options, including A/C and electrical sunroof, since it was a GT. I didn't have anything like that, no A/C, manual sunroof, nothing electrical.

A few days ago, I stopped at a red light with my 2006 2.5L Jetta next to a Sunfire GTO... He revved as expected, and I nailed him. End of story.

Yesterday, I was driving back from a date with a nice lady with my 2006 2.5L Jetta when I stopped at a red light beside the EXACT same guy in his 1993-98 2.0L Jetta with his cute girlfriend. I looked at him and I laughed at him like crazy. I could see he was mad. And guess what! He revved it! I couldn't freakin' believe it! So I revved back. I don't know if you know it, but the VW 2.5L engine has a quite aggressive sound. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTyDo7og6OY&feature=related] I don't know if it scared him, but still. The light turned green, ESP helped me to make the best start possible and I quickly took a good distance. This guy shouldn't drive a VW, when you are dumb enough to challenge everything you see, you should be driving a 4 doors Civic or something like that.

The German look at the suspension, the American look at the engine, the Italian look at the interior, the Japanese look at everything, the Redneck doesn't look at anything, the Canadian look at the girl selling it...

This essentially gives you the advantage of getting a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta for less money than when it was new. If the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta was properly maintained, you also have a good chance of steering clear of problems that would have developed when the car was new. It is expected that the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta will have a very good resale value. This assumes that the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta is in good condition and has a reasonable number of miles.
