Muffler Question

it looks like a dual chamber, muffler with out the outer shell, completely stupid,

I'd like to see the inside of that muffler. If it's just pipes being split, I think their hope is that it creates scavenging which would quiet it down a very slight amount, but would've already happened on a single exhaust and a dual exhaust with a Y-Pipe or X-Pipe.

Y-pipe?? X-pipe?? what are those, prolly already know just call them somethin else

Y-Pipe is a pipe that looks like a Y(Two pipes merging into one). An X-Pipe looks like an X(Two pipes crossing over to another two pipes). The second pic, just focus on the X-part, not the inlet and outlet bends.
